A Medway
02:29
|

Jimmy Biggs -A Medway
There’s a landscape somewhere
In the cupboards of Albion
It’s a vista of Medway –
Its chimneys and trees in tandem are towering
And though if only discerned at a squint
The corner boasts Dickens and Coleridge
Discussing on a plinth
The first full circle of every boats pistons
Bursting with the certainty that
They’re scribing our history
Because the painting belies
A forthcoming surfeit
Hope burns in their eyes
Their land is their turf, it
Promises more than pure luck decries
“One day all of this will be worth it.”

To Addle a Face
05:03
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- To Addle a Face
Clouds are forming in tiny clusters
It seems it'll be a blustery
Day after all
And all of these problems seem small
It took a face out of place
As a quick anesthetic
A face out of place for us
All to forget it
Mounds towers, then land is combed
Few years pass, build lives and homes
Sweetly smile
Face out of place – forever child
It took a face out of place
And a people to madden
A face
I find minds to addle
We tremble under decks and snap embryonic
A show's on for us – The Ballet Tectonic
Plates spinning
We honestly thought, and thought we were winning
It took a face out of place
To alter misnomers
A Face
To plug up our stomas
This was my face
Pure, righteous, chaste
But smother your praise
I cast it to waste

Guesswork
02:43
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Guesswork
And generosity will come
At a devastating price
Once is good for some
Then compromising twice
Ley line tracks don't favour fools
Just freaks with gut will to want
Seasoned reasoners with tools
Pecked by beaks of nut débutantes
When the Jesus is sent
By the God of your choice
He'll scrap the ascent
And lay low with the boys
(The is all the product of guesswork)
While contusions make teams
Then seek creeks for the brawl
We need creases in jeans
And depends how they fall
Pray for him to lend his
Rifle for the bout
That joker's an appendix
We'll have to take him out
Guesswork is like flexing
The muscles of a trout
That joker's an appendix
We'll have to take him out
And when the Jesus is sent
By the God of your choice
He'll scrap the ascent
And lay low with the boys

Rafter Yard

|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Rafter Yard
Weather’s not all that good, I’m afraid
Never thought it would be whilst that song played
Over tannoys after bells in Rafter Yard
Annoys the hell out of me, sarge
We gave them permission
In forms of weapons
Here come the bombs
Cheeky cretins
Rafter Yard asking in a foggy town
Hush ‘neath furrowed overgrown burrows
Lifesupport blips – the record skips
And the township considers the kick
We gave them permission
In forms of weapons
Here come the bombs
Cheeky cretins

Needless To Say
03:53
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs - Needless to Say
And the blood that pumps
Through my baby’s fingers
Sculpts those lumps
That make me tingle
Striped by light
In a lush film noir
In the office block
Of some abattoir
Closing breaths
This should have been said
But I don’t pray
(No, I don’t pray)
Instead, a cough
To cover the costs,
Needless to say
Needless to say…
When will this all go away?
Needless to say, I won’t say
Give you the silence you crave…
Needless to say, I won’t say
Needless to say,
That I’m a leech
Simply the hardest part
Of your peach
“I’m only mine”
Comes the croak
As my hands disband
From my throat
And needless to say
My rattle’s fading
From the hill I see
The cattle made it…
When will this all go away?
Needless to say, I won’t say
Give you the silence you crave…
Needless to say, I won’t say
Now tingles are tickles
And it’s singing the pickles
And the cattle run out to the fray
Until they’re all caught
It’s my very own fault
So I suppose the needless do say

Sundial
05:16
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Sundial
I’m part of a wave towards Pascal’s wager
Pascal was a prick perpetuating paranoid behaviour
I’ll wave at those names as they’re sailing past danger
And draw the flatline myself
I awoke on that frigate as white as a sheet
Thinking “I fear all the years I’ve been tweaked to feel meek”
I tell you, those velvet freaks were so sleek
But there was no lifeboat
I know a guy who’s got his own sundial
Its bones were gelatinous as the skin ossifies
Queens laugh at us whilst flicking it by
Feng Shui and lay a parade for marauders
The hangman’s face in this town in famous
It’s a terrible design
I know a guy who’s got his own sundial
Slop out the benzene – get them out of the picture
It’s not ethnic cleansing if you’re slightly richer
Neil Young takes the tram every day into town
He’s never been recognised
No offence, but I
Hate to break it to you…
Here’s a guy who needs no introduction
I know a guy who’s got his own sundial

The '40s
04:01
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- The ‘40s
Reported a crime
To people who had nowhere to be in the ‘40s
No, just green and blue
We hung about,
Corners of the streets in the ‘40s
Flannelled our faces in threats
A rite too often snorted,
It was better left unsorted in the ‘40s
Compared far too much
To the way things expected to drag in the ‘40s
No, we spoke too clear
Bang, went the drug
Then tea became our lunch in the ‘40s
Rivers flowed both ways
Future and present courted,
Left the past aborted in the ‘40s
A smear of violet and good was defended
Hold high the season that the harvest was kept
Down came our boots and riots suspended
And did it for the reason a spider spins a web
Circle round the tree,
Amble through the wheat in the ‘40s
Gather what’s allowed
Dizzy, we all sit
And think a little bit about the ‘40s
Gather what’s allowed
A Gordian Knot
Of what we forgot about the ‘40s

Cactus
03:18
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Cactus
The ladies next doors had a fire one night
A tragedy for us, my friend
Our records, they felt it
Through the walls, they melted
We had to start over again
Summer still reigns
From a throne shone through
The doors that Autumn leaves,
Frost hardens the ground
That Winter gardens
And though we broke the circle, it
Was Spring that was loaded
You’re as pretty as an avalanche
Let the villagers attack us
I’ll cut short their march
Like a cross-dressing cactus
Because for you I would perish, miss
Don’t think that I won’t do it
Anything for one nectar kiss
Whilst I protected your tulips
Summer still reigns
From a throne shone through
The doors that Autumn leaves,
Frost hardens the ground
That Winter gardens
And though we broke the circle, it
Was Spring that was loaded
Rushes and reeds hang from much of the seeds
And like coins, some join in a ‘V’
A monkey swings close – (its toes start to bleed)
But this is all vine by me
We need to be careful or kids will grow…

Rafter Yard (Reprise)
03:12
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Rafter Yard (Reprise)
We gave you food and conditional shelter
A pair of shoes and removed helter skelter
Hoping for lame and the attraction will last
And you’d look tame if you were behind glass
Rafter’s Yard chain with a snapped-off St. Christopher
And officer’s dickless- he’s only an officer
The boots they gave him to mind over the place
He’ll choose to use to stamp on a face
Face down for the fight,
But where is the sting?
‘Cos mud tastes alright
When it’s a fight you will win…

Oort Cloud
04:10
|
|||
Jimmy Biggs- Oort Cloud
The Oort Cloud
Is somebody else's problem, now
I'm bored of milking that rusty old sow
And that's not milk, not anyhow
From the world wide wars
To the booze fuelled duels
All conflict falls
To ridicule
And leaders assure us
That we're not Fighting Fools
All conflict falls
To ridicule
Lifeforms
Peer down from otherworldly shelves
Save resources, hold back their forces
We'll do the job ourselves
The thought of being stable
Both terrifies and bores me
I'll abort the strings if able
Of flies that don't abhor me
And if cavorting on the tables
You can't spout the line you saw me
I'll job about, not sit for paintings
I love your sketchy drawing
The Oort Cloud
Is in your ears and around you, now
Slipped in with our meteor shower
And that's not power, not anyhow
From the world wide wars
To the booze fuelled duels
All conflict falls
To ridicule
And leaders assure us
That we're not Fighting Fools
All conflict falls
To ridicule
Petrol
We hold our petrol money in our palm
We'd have faded out
(Long before we ever get that far...)
